The Tenex procedure is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic inflammation of the tendons of the foot and Ankle. After a patient has failed conservative therapy and is still having pain, Tenex allows us to debride away the devitalized damaged tissue of the Plantar Fascia, Achilles, or Peroneal tendons while promoting healing and new formation of blood vessels. The best part about the procedure is that it is an outpatient procedure performed through a small stab incision and you will be walking in a boot the same day as your procedure.
Typically you will be in the boot for 3.5 weeks and will then transfer to a good supportive sneaker. With other surgical procedures, there is typically weeks of non-weight bearing time and a large incision.
